TOULMIN, District Judge.
This is a suit to recover the possession of the ship. On the night of December 29, 1900, she went aground on the beach about 18 miles eastwardly from Sand Island light, near the entrance to Mobile Bay, exposed to the winds and waves of the Gulf of Mexico. On learning of the stranding of the ship soon after it happened, and before this libel was filed, her owners abandoned her to the insurers.
