APPEAL from the County Court of Milwaukee County. The plaintiff, Frances Kerman, is the only child of Ellen Hill, wife of Isaac Hill, by a former husband. Ellen Hill died in Milwaukee in the evening of February 20, 1867, and Isaac Hill also died in tbe same city early the next morning, both from injuries received at the explosion of a paper mill, and Isaac Hill was ignorant of his wife’s death until a short time before his own.

APPEAL from the County Court of Milwaukee County. The plaintiff, Frances Kerman, is the only child of Ellen Hill, wife of Isaac Hill, by a former husband. We do not deem it necessai’y to consider the question, so fully and ably discussed upon the argument, as to what were the rights of the husband by virtue of his marital l’elation, either at common law or under our statute of distributions, in the personal property of the wife at her death, whether reduced to possession or not. The controversy in this case is in regard to money paid on a policy of life insurance.
