*823 Anthony Robinson and Timothy Spangler, police officers employed by the University of Illinois at Chicago Police Department ("Department"), brought claims against the University of Illinois Board of Trustees and four individuals for race-based discrimination, harassment and retaliation. The district court disposed of all but one of the claims through summary judgment. Robinson then prevailed at trial on a claim for retaliation against his supervisor, Alfred Perales, recovering nominal damages.
