On October 12, 1993, defendant was indicted and charged with the crimes of aggravated harassment in the second degree, burglary in the first degree, assault in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. These charges all stemmed from defendant’s alleged harassment of a former girlfriend which included an incident whereby defendant broke into the victim’s home and attacked her. Following plea negotiations, defendant, while represented by counsel, pleaded guilty to the crime of attempted burglary in the second degree in full satisfaction of the indictment.
