for the Court.
The defendant, Albertino Baptista (defendant) appeals a conviction in the Superior Court of three counts of first-degree sexual assault of his then fourteen-year-old stepdaughter. This case came before the Supreme Court for oral argument on January 25, 2006, pursuant to an order directing the parties to appear and show cause why the issues raised in this appeal should not summarily be decided.
