In February 1996, Mr. Gary Bachorz and Mr. Carmelo Scuderi (the “plaintiffs”) entered into a fifteen-year lease, which included a purchase option, with Mr. Nairn Miller. The plaintiffs instituted this action against Miller’s successor in interest, 1 Ms. Shauna Miller-Forslund, when she refused to allow the plaintiffs to exercise the purchase option on the ground that they were in default on their obligations under the lease.
