M. Feldman filed this suit in the district court of Harrison county, Tex., against William Jones as the mak;er, and Southern Trading Company of Texas las indorser, of three notes, each for the sum of $609; and asked for foreclosure of a mortgage lien on certain gin machinery. The ■ Southern Trading Company filed no answer, but made default. Jones answered, setting ■up various defenses, -and in addition filed a cross-complaint or plea in reconvention against Feldman and the Southern Trading Company of Texas, in which he sought to ¡cancel the notes sued on as well as three others held by the…
