[1] The court below held that it had jurisdiction, during the pendency of the applications for patents in the Land Department, to determine whether those proceedings were fraudulent and unlawful, and, if so, to annul by its judgment any and every interest in the property and in its contents claimed by the applicants, saying in its opinion:
