¶ 1. Richard Ray Timmons was charged in the Circuit Court of Lauderdale County, Mississippi, with four counts of statutory rape, which stemmed from four separate allegations of sexual encounters with a fourteen-year-old girl. He was convicted on Count I of the indictment and found not guilty on the remaining three counts. He was sentenced to twenty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with ten years suspended and five years of post-release supervision.
