This is an action by the West Point Island Civic Association and others seeking to compel the Township Committee of Dover Township to adopt a resolution giving its consent to annexation by the Borough of Lavallette of that part of the township known as West Point Island. The applicable statute is R. 8. 40 :43-26. The statute provides that land in one municipality may be annexed to another municipality provided certain requirements are met.
