Bernard and Susan Hoffman, petitioners (herein parents), filed a motion under section 72 of the Civil Practice Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 110, par. 72) to vacate the decree of adoption of the circuit court of De Witt County. The decree of adoption in question had been entered in favor of Robert and Rose Hoffman, respondents, the adopted child’s paternal grandparents (herein grandparents). The circuit court denied the motion. The only stated basis for the court’s ruling was that “[p]etitioners have failed to sustain their burden of proof.” This appeal is from the judgment entered.
