I. Facts and Proceedings Below
The plaintiffs, Ricky Paul Landry and his wife, sued Huthnance Drilling Company and Hydril Company under the general maritime law. Landry was injured while working for Connor Tong Rental & Service, Inc., as a tong operator on a Huthnance jack-up drilling rig. Exchange Oil & Gas Company chartered the rig and contracted with various companies to run a string of production pipe. Huthnance supplied the rig and drilling crew.
