GRAVES, Justice.

Appellant, Kinte Brown, was convicted in the Jefferson Circuit Court of wanton murder and sentenced to twenty years imprisonment. He appeals to this Court as a matter of right.

The facts surrounding the murder are not in dispute. On November 20, 1996, Appellant and several others were at a friend’s house watching television. Dwayne Cardine took Appellant’s pager from him and, after making a “playfully insulting remark,” returned it upon request.
