On November 21, 1922, Edwin E. Jones, appellant’s intestate, who was employed at the Illinois Glass Factory at Alton, Illinois, left his place of employment between 5:30 and 6:00 o’clock p. m., and as he was crossing Broadway street in said city he was struck and injured by an automobile driven by appellee, and within four days thereafter died from the injuries so sustained. To recover for the death of said deceased, appellant, as the administratrix of his estate, instituted suit in the circuit court of Madison county.
