Defendant, Abraham E Abraham, was convicted of attempted first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/8 — 4 (West 1994)), aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12 — 4 (West 1994)), and armed violence (720 ILCS 5/33A — 2 (West 1994)) following a jury trial in the circuit court of Du Page County.
