On appeal from his conviction of kidnapping in the first degree in violation of Iowa Code sections 710.1-.2 (1981), defendant asserts the trial court erred in: (1) Overruling his motion to suppress incriminating statements made by defendant; (2) denying his requested jury instruction that an unfavorable inference be drawn from the State’s failure to introduce certain evidence; and (3) overruling defendant’s motion for new trial and motion in arrest of judgment which were premised on allegations of pros-ecutorial misconduct and newly discovered evidence.
