This action was brought to enforce specific performance of a contract for the exchange of property. There was judgment for plaintiff, and defendant appeals.

*207The original contract was in writing, and provided in sub-stance that defendant would convey to plaintiff certain lots, store building, and a stock of goods in Warner, S. D., for plaintiff’s half section of land in Day county. This contract was filled out in duplicate by one Draeger. One duplicate was given to plaintiff and. one to defendant.
