Background

Rodney Lee Rowe appeals the district court’s 1 denial of his application for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. On December 11, 1979, a jury in the Pulaski County Circuit Court found Rowe guilty of attempted capital murder and aggravated robbery. The charges stemmed from an incident on the night of January 23, 1979, in which Mrs. Katie Cage was shot during the course of a robbery in front of her home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
