Defendant, Richard Paul Shugar, was convicted by a jury of murder in the second degree.* 1 When defendant’s motion for a new trial was denied, he brought this appeal raising several claims of reversible error.

Defendant’s first contention is that the trial court erred in denying his motion for a change of venue. On July 19, 1968, defendant filed a written pre-trial motion for a change of venue and a continuance until after January 1969. The motion was denied on July 29, 1968.
