OPINION

Kem Thompson Frost, Chief Justice. A man sued a woman he alleged was his wife, asserting various claims for money damages. The trial court ultimately dismissed the action for lack of jurisdiction. On appeal, the plaintiff asserts that the trial court erred in doing so, and the defendant asserts that the plaintiff failed to timely appeal. We conclude that the plaintiff timely appealed and that the trial court erred in dismissing for lack of jurisdiction. Accordingly, we reverse the trial court’s dismissal order and remand for further proceedings.
