The belief of the witness, A. S. Jones, that the claimant or her daughter had no other property than •they acquired from the estate of S. Jones, deceased, was rightly excluded. It has been repeatedly ruled by this court •that the mere belief or opinion of a witness is not evidence, but he must state the facts and circumstances upon which he rests his opinion, or from which he draws his conclusion, *471that the jury may understanding^ decide for themselves.
