Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Gary, J.), rendered April 26, 1995, convicting him of robbery in the first degree (two counts), upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

Contrary to the defendant’s contention, the trial court did not improvidently exercise its discretion in denying his request to substitute counsel on the eve of trial, where counsel had provided representation since the prior year at pretrial hearings without complaint by the defendant (see, People v Sides, 75 NY2d 822, 823; People v Arroyave,…
