On April 7, 1951, Sanitary District Number One of Lancaster County, Nebraska, a public corporation, commenced proceedings in the county court to condemn certain described lands for right-of-way necessary to straighten Salt Creek drainage channel, a part of their works, between 10th and 14th Streets in Lincoln. Appraisers were duly appointed and qualified, who, on April 30, 1951, after inspection and hearing, assessed “the damages which the owners of said land, and all persons interested therein have sustained by reason of the taking and appropriating of said lands for public improvements * *…
