*489Plaintiff Carl Michael Nicks ("Mike") and Defendant Sally Agner Nicks ("Sally") filed cross-appeals from the Catawba County District Court's "Order/Judgment" in their action for, inter alia, equitable distribution. Mike argues that the trial court erred in classifying, valuing, and distributing certain assets to which neither party held legal title, and also contends that the court erred by awarding permanent alimony to Sally.
