This is an appeal from judgment of conviction of murder in the second degree.

A. The Victim

The body of Alice Faye Jones, who, though having the same name, was not the wife of appellant, nor related to him, was found by her young son at about 6 :40 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 1962. Norris Finlayson, M.D., an experienced autopsy surgeon, testified that death was caused by strangulation, and that a considerable amount of force must have been applied in order to cause the injuries to the decedent’s throat and neck.
