This was an action to recover damages for personal injuries, brought by Baibara Merchant against the Quebec Steamship Company, a Canadian corporation, in the Superior Court of the city of New York, and removed by the plaintiff into the Circuit Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York. The case was tried by a jury, which found a verdict for the plaintiff for $5000, on which a judgment was entered in her favor for that amount, with $306 interest from the time of rendering the verdict to the time of entering…
