UPON A REHEARING EN BANC

COLEMAN, J.

A panel of this Court, in a published opinion, reversed the conviction of Bernard Singleton for robbery. Singleton v. Commonwealth, 18 Va. App. 91, 441 S.E.2d 713 (1994). The panel held that the trial court erred by allowing the Commonwealth to present rebuttal evidence on a collateral issue that was irrelevant and prejudicial because the evidence tended to prove another crime. We granted a rehearing en banc and stayed the mandate from the panel’s decision.
