M. David Johns was prosecuted under information filed by the District Attorney in the Sixth Judicial District Court for the parish of West Carroll, in which he is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and with stabbing one Levi C. Massingill with a dangerous weapon, with intent to commit murder, and with inflicting upon the said Massingill with said dangerous weapon a wound less than mayhem. The accused pleaded not guilty, and was tried by jury ; the jury rendered a verdict of guilty, and the accused was sentenced by the court to ten…
