McKEAGUE, District Judge.

This is an appeal from a decision of the bankruptcy court denying an exemption claimed by debtor-appellant David Jurgen-sen. Appellant filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 7 of the Bank ruptcy Code on May 22, 1998. On November 2, 1998, appellant (who is less than 59]é years of age) filed an amended claim of exemptions seeking to exempt an Individual Retirement Account (“IRA”) originally in the amount of $7,900.29.
