Following a guilty plea, defendant Tanesha Gougisha was convicted of aggravated battery of a child and sentenced to 12 years in prison. On appeal, defendant contends that she entered into an open rather than negotiated guilty plea, and thus, her case must be remanded to the trial court because it failed to properly admonish her regarding her right to file a motion for reconsideration of her sentence in accordance with Supreme Court Rule 605(b) (188 Ill. 2d R. 605(b)).
