Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Essex County (Halloran, J.), rendered October 12, 1999, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of burglary in the first degree (two counts), assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and menacing in the second degree.
