Plaintiff, Eugene Leonard Dudenhefer (“Dudenhefer”), brought this action to be recognized as the owner and placed in possession of a parcel of land in Hopedale, Louisiana. Dudenhefer claimed ownership based on acquisitive prescription. Defendant, Meraux Land Development, L.L.C. (“Meraux Land”), claimed ownership of the parcel in dispute based on a written act translative of title and recorded in the public records.
