Respondent Lawrence Bernstein was admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York hy the Second Judicial Department on December 23, 1964. At all times pertinent to this proceeding, he maintained an office for the practice of law within the First Judicial Department and was in a law partnership (from 1999 to March 2002) with Michael L. Steindam known as “Bernstein & Steindam, EC.” in which they were the only attorneys and/or partners.
