This is an appeal from an order entered by the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County, Pennsylvania. On June 13, 1984, the Honorable Michael Franciosa directed appellant, Robert J. Szakmeister, to pay alimony pendente lite and counsel fees to appellee, Geraldine A. Szakmeister.

Appellant had instituted an action in divorce pursuant to the Divorce Code of 1980 on June 7, 1982. Appellee then sought alimony pendente lite, counsel fees and costs. Depositions of the parties were taken on November 29, 1983, and were submitted to the court in lieu of a hearing. Following…
