OPINION OF THE COURT. This is a scire facias to revive an action of trespass on the case commenced against Vanzandt, on a charge that he assisted certain negroes to escape from the service of the plaintiff in Kentucky, by reason of which one of them was lost to the plaintiff, and for the recaption and return of the others, the plaintiff was subjected by the law of Kentucky to the payment of a large sum of money. The jury rendered a verdict in favor of the plaintiff, for twelve hundred dollars in damages. [Case No. 7,501.] A motion was made for a new trial and also a motion in arrest of…
