11 PROCEDURAL HISTORY

Renee Tyler (Defendant), was charged by bill of indictment with second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1; and obstruction of justice, a violation of La.R.S. 14:130.1(A)(1). Following a jury trial, Defendant was convicted of the charged offenses. Defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence on the charge of second degree murder. She was sentenced to serve two years on the charge of obstruction of justice, this sentence to run concurrently with the previously imposed sentence. Defendant…
