C. P. LaFitte, availing himself of the provisions of R.S. 9:422.1 1 and joined by his wife, instituted this proceeding to adopt his three minor step-children — -Pamela Gayle, James Clifford, II, and' Sharon-Minette Hutchinson, ages IS, 12, and 10. respectively, whose care, custody, and control had been awarded -their mother— without the consent of their father, James Clifford Hutchinson, claiming- Hutchinson, by failing to fulfill his parental responsibilities to these minors for a period exceeding a year in accordance with the obligation imposed upon him by' the…
