Bliss, J.—
The plaintiff is the, lessee of two separate pieces of property — Lots 3 and 4, and Lots 5 and 6, all in Block 1, of the City of Des Moines — in which it operates a department store. The lease provides that it shall pay the taxes on the property. In 1941, Lots 5 and 6 were assessed at a valuation of $845,950 and Lots 3 and 4 at a valuation of $780,580. As shown by the return of the writ, J. B. Tusaut, the assessor, ii])ou information received on April 29, 1941, that the assessments on these properties were too low as compared with surrounding properties, after further investigation…
