In 1965, the International Hodcarriers, Building and Common Laborers’ Union (hereinafter the Union), of which plaintiff Peter Greco (hereinafter Greco) was a member, established defendant, a pension fund created for the purpose of providing retirement benefits for its members. At that time, Greco’s employment was subject to the terms of a collective bargaining agreement under which the Union made contributions to defendant on his behalf.
