MAXWELL, J.,

for the Court:

¶ 1. A jury sitting in the Jackson County Circuit Court convicted Cleveland Palmer of murder. The trial judge sentenced Palmer to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. On appeal, Palmer claims he received ineffective assistance from his trial counsel. Specifically, he contends: (1) plain error resulted from his attorney’s failure to object to inadmissible evidence, and (2) his lawyer did not adequately prepare to defend his case.
