New York attorney Steven Donziger and his Ecuadorian clients have obtained an $18.2 billion judgment against Chevron Corporation (“Chevron”) from an Ecuadorian court (the “Judgment”). Chevron sues here for equitable relief,1 claiming that the Judgment was obtained by fraud — including but not limited to bribery of the Ecuadorian judge— as part of a scheme to extort money from it.
