“This suit was instituted in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, by appellant, B. L. Allen, against appellee, The Houston Chronicle Publishing Company, for the recovery of'damages sustained by reason of the • publication by appellee in its newspaper, the Plouston Chronicle, of an article concerning appellant, which article was alleged by innuendo to be libelous, and defamatory, of appellant and of his character and reputation.
