Plaintiff, Dionisio Martinez, and his wife, Maria Julia Dávila, brought this action against defendant, Sea-Land Service, Inc., alleging that defendant’s vessel, the SS BOSTON, was unseaworthy and that this unseaworthy condition caused an injury to Mr. Martinez. 1 A bifurcated, non-jury trial was held on April 7, 1986, during which evidence concerning the issue of liability alone was presented to this Court.
