On November 14, 2007, the City of Albany Police Department received a call that shots had been fired in the vicinity of 637 South Pearl Street in the City of Albany. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found the victim lying on the ground dead from an apparent gunshot wound. As they were securing the crime scene, the police were approached by defendant, who stated that the victim might be her estranged husband.
