On this appeal, we decide whether the timeliness of a habeas corpus petition, see 28 U.S.C. § 2255, under the one-year statute of limitations of the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 (“AEDPA”), Pub.L. No. 104-132, 110 Stat. 1214, runs from the Supreme Court’s denial of a writ of certiorari or from the denial of a petition for rehearing of the denial of certiorari.
