B. H. Pearson sued the Georgia Southern and Florida Railway Company in the City court of Macon. The allegations of his petition, so far as material to the question'presented for our decision, were as follows: The defendant “is a corporation operating its business in the State of Georgia and having its principal office and residence in said county of Bibb.” On May 24, 1902, plaintiff purchased a ticket from the agent of the defendant at Cordele, Ga., for transportation from that point to Charleston, S.
