I. INTRODUCTION

On September 29, 1993, Carlos R. Sanchez, also known as Roberto Jarvio, was charged in an amended information with two felonies: robbery, a Class II felony, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-324 (Reissue 1989); and assault in the first degree, a Class III felony, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-308 (Reissue 1989). Sanchez pled guilty to both charges and was subsequently sentenced on November 2, 1993.
