CARTER, Justice.

Michael Grantham, the custodial parent of two minor children pursuant to a decree of dissolution, appeals from adverse rulings in proceedings to modify child custody. Those proceedings were pursued by the children’s mother, Tammara Grant-ham, following Michael’s call to active duty with the Iowa National Guard. The district court modified the dissolution decree by changing primary care of the children from Michael to Tammara. The court of appeals reversed the district court’s order modifying the dissolution decree, relying in part on the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act…
