Affirming.

On June 11, 1908, Jasper Bell conveyed to P P Pit-man a farm in consideration of $8,000, $3,000 of which' was paid in cash. Two notes were executed for the remainder of the consideration, the first note being for $2,000, due January 1, 1909; the second note for $3,000, due January 1, 1910, with interest at 8 per cent, from January 1, 1909, until paid. On December 26, 1908, Pit-man paid off the first note for $2,000, and it was then agreed between him and Bell that Bell would discount to *522him the second note at 6 per cent, off the face or…
