KAPSNER, Justice.
[¶ 1] Francis Sepe appeals from the district court's denial of his motion to terminate his spousal support obligation and award of attorney fees to Elizabeth Gibb (f/k/a Elizabeth Sepe). We affirm the denial of the motion to terminate spousal support and reverse the award of attorney fees.

[¶ 2] Sepe and Gibb were married in 1976 and divorced in 1996. They have two children, both of whom have reached the age of majority. At the time of the divorce Gibb worked as a learning disabilities specialist at North Dakota State University and earned approximately $17,542 annually. Sepe…
